Strangers (1986) and Lightning (1988), although marketed as horror, involve peaceful alien visitors and a time traveler from the future, but Twilight Eyes (1987) returns to the supernatural. The protagonist is Sweet, a retired sideshow geek, a particularly unattractive man who finds it difficult to fit into a normal town because of the obvious animosity of his neighbors. A second linked trilogy followed, Domes of Fire (1992), The Shining Ones (1993), and The Hidden City (1994), but most of this quest sequence consists of a repetition of incidents from earlier titles.
