The panel discussion has a two-fold purpose. One objective is to explore and compare the two approaches to change agency. The second objective, which represents the panel's main focus, is to examine the current state-ofpractice and to consider the likely directions that practice will take in the years ahead. The notion of computer-based information systems serving as the impetus for organizational restructuring and business redesign is receiving increasing attention.
